Explanation (?):

The NUI message receiver service is a component of Windows that will debut in the codenamed release of Longhorn. NUI stands for natural user interface, and represents a collection of API features for speech recognition, hand-writing recognition and intelligent computer adapation. The features of this service are aimed mainly at servers, but the ability to perform speech tasks on a Windows computer would be a step towards the future. The intention of this service is to receive commands from various programs, and to act as a monitor for user instructions through non-traditional means. These features are intended to be heavily interconnected with WinFS so that computers could be searched much more easily, such as on a science fiction television show. This service is not required for Longhorn and as such it could be disabled.

"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." --John Philpot Curran (Speeches. Dublin, 1808)
